Possibly the only trilogy without a clearly distinct episode which is
less than the others - Back to the Future holds up after so many years.
It's the original where we meet all the characters who reappear
throughout and it's very interesting for a number of reasons. Firstly,
the special effects are great for the time and there's not many of them,
but we feel sucked in to the sci-fi mind frame which the film presents.
As they race against time to get things done, the film comes together
never feeling overwhelming or like there's too much going on. It's fun.
