There's lots to like about this movie. Likewise, there is plenty to
dislike. For example, the post-war segment where he's kinda lost, then
Jenny shows up and screws him over a few times. In fact, she's pretty
much the least likeable thing about the movie. She uses him, in a big
way.
Then there's the running sequence. Probably one of my favourite scenes
in moviedom. It's just so blandly optimistic. People put faith in what
they don't understand. Gump doesn't understand anything, and continues
to rise with the motions of his life. It's good stuff. Even if Jenny is intolerable.
