This is one of those films where parodies, homages and references to the
film are so abundant - without actually mentioning the film - that you
forget there is an original that they are all talking about.
Upon watching The Defiant Ones it is easy to think of it as an homage to
itself, but it manages to avoid being "two people tied together" and
becomes a successful film. With two main fleshed out characters we can
relate to, the film moves along at a cracking pace.
Maybe not as thought provoking as it once could have been, its still an enjoyable film.
