Usually I really like "coming of age" films. This one didn't sit right.
Maybe it was because everyone seemed old. The two main characters were
at least 25. And what's with her dad? He's got to be hitting 60.
But that completely distracting and unignorable point aside, the story
itself didn't have too much to it. As desperate as he wanted to be, he
was always clear and eloquent, if ramblingly so, and he always was
on-the-ball. There was no doubt he wouldn't get her - apart from her
dad, there were no obstacles. Wear him down and you win.
