Having seen the shocking shower scene from Psycho many times, both in
documentaries of film and in other media, it failed to have any impact
at all when it turned up in the actual film.
It bothered me that so many people had summed up the film by focusing on
that one scene. Its a lot longer than that and has a lot of shocks and
unsettling moments centring around the unhinged owner of the motel.
In my opinion, the film is an intriguing one. One which focuses on
character and atmosphere over violence. More people should see it like
that.
